We saw so many great images over the course of the competition. We narrowed it down to some 33 images out of over 200 entries received. These 33 will be on display at Team Digital for the next month.

Then we narrowed it down to 10 great images. And just a reminder that the final 10 get a $100.00 Team Digital hire voucher each.

Then we got down to 4 winning images. The first one announced was the best shopping trolley image. Also the judges made it quite clear that this image was unlucky not to be in the top 3. Congratulation to Tina Bartley for this wonderful image. Tina receives a $250 Canson Fine Art Media Voucher.

And the there was 3, third place went to Ross Swanborough for his image of the entertainment centre. Ross won a Complete Nik Software collection, we done Ross.

In second place with a simply stunning image of trucks on a bridge Alan MacDonald. Alan won a Manfrotto CX4 Carbon Fibre tripod. Love your work Alan.

If you weren’t able to attend last night don’t panic the 30 finalist will be on display for the next month at the Team Digital. For those of you who did get along we hope you had a great night.

We have received some great entries for the Golden Shopping Trolley Awards, so please keep them coming.

We would like to take this opportunity to remind entrants that it is an Urban Landscape Competition, with a Shopping Trolley sub category. So you don’t have to have a shopping trolley in your images, unless you want to enter that sub category.

One other point that has come up is that you don’t have to enter 4 images , you can enter up to four images per entry, but you don’t have to. Each images is judged separately

Here is the link for entries

Here’s some examples of Urban Landscapes from the master trolley pusher himself (Christian Fletcher)

Team Digital is very pleased to announce the Golden Shopping Trolley Awards

This has been in the making for some time. The awards themselves come from discussions with Christian Fletcher — basically, how to have a competition and have a lot fun doing it.

The theme is Urban Landscape or “Landscapes that have been touched by man.” I’m sure you will all agree that this gives you a lot scope to come up with something out of the square.

We wanted to make this competition different, not only from the subject point of view but also the way it is judged. We have came up with the idea of having the top 20 images judged live at Gala Evening (Beer and Sausage Sizzle at Team) held on the 29th of October starting at 6.00pm, so you can come along and hear what the judges have to say about the images. Also the 20 finalist will be printed on Epson of course. On the night we will have screens displaying all the entries.

We also have some very esteemed Trolley Handlers (judges) in Christian Fletcher and Tony Hewitt. Certainly Australia’s leading exponents of what is the Urban Landscape .

What could be better than that? how about a whole swag of prizes? over $ 4000.00 worth
1st Prize is shiny new Epson Pro 3880 A2 printer valued at $ 2195.00
2nd Prize is a superlight weight Manfrotto Carbon Fibre Tripod 055CXPro4 valued at $ 795.00
3rd Prize is the Complete Collection of NiK Software valued at $ 699.00

The second is the best Urban Landscape image that contains a shopping trolley. Canson have sponsored this section with a $ 250 media pack.

Cost of entry $ 25.00 which allows you to enter 4 images and this includes a ticket to the gala evening.

You can put your entries in here.

Apple is expected to release the latest version of Mac OS X, version 10.7 Lion, sometime this month. Nik has been working with developer release versions and want to notify you that we’ve found an issue installing some of our plug-ins into Photoshop CS5 after you’ve updated to Lion.

If you have already installed your Nik Software plug-ins into Photoshop CS5 prior to updating to Lion, the plug-ins will continue to work without issue. There are also no issues installing our plug-ins into Lightroom or Aperture on a Mac running OS 10.7 Lion and no issues installing HDR Efex Pro into any host application.

However, the current installers for Dfine 2.0, Viveza 2, Color Efex Pro 3.0, Silver Efex Pro 2, and Sharpener Pro 3.0 are not able to install into Photoshop CS5 on a Mac running OS 10.7 Lion. This issue will affect both new and re-installations of these plug-ins.

Nik’s engineers have already begun working on a fix for the installers and we intend to start releasing these free updates this month. Each update will be released in succession, starting with Silver Efex Pro 2 and we will notify registered owners via email.

It doesn’t really :

iPad 2 can save an image up to 16 megapixels.
If your image is larger than your iPad supports, the image will be downsampled to the maximum supported megapixels.

You can also run into some problems with image files from iPhoto being synced via iTunes. If the longest dimension is greater than 2048 your photos will be downsized to that limitation.
Using an app like DropBox will get around this ‘feature

Hope this helps — kinda, sorta, maybe :???:
