The Digital Village is a community of shared interest with people from a broad range of imaging fields including: digital and traditional photographers (from amateur enthusiasts to professionals), fine art printers, graphic designers, desktop publishers, videographers, artists & educators, etc.
The Digital Village Academy supports our members by delivering a diverse range of learning programmes and activities each term.
• developed in response to the interests and requests of people in the community
• usually very flexible in the way they are run
• suited to a range of varying participant abilities and backgrounds.
Courses foster skills & knowledge development, and social participation, in a relaxed, supportive environment. They are (usually) non-accredited and informal in nature, which removes a lot of the pressure and competitiveness of other more traditional training alternatives. Although primarily for personal development several are pitched at a professional level for those looking towards an employment entry/re-entry pathway. The Digital Village Academy is ably supported by the technical expertise, hardware assets and software resources of Team Digital.
The Digital Village Centre for Learning is based at 268 Lord st (near cnr of Loftus) Perth. This venue can function as a seminar space or hands-on computer lab.
