Team Digital continues to expand its photographic hire facility with the addition of the following new products from Canon and Nikon.
At Team Digital we take the worry out of photographic hire with our optional “no liability” insurance and remember the longer you hire the more bonus days you get. Hire for a week and pay only four days hire or hire for the weekend and pay only one day’s hire. We also have a special “try before you buy” program where we refund the hire charge if the same product is purchased from us within 7 days of the hire. Is it the global crisis or is it that our major suppliers have become so imbued with the Christmas spirit that they feel compelled to slash the prices of many of their leading brand products? Undoubtedly it has much to do with the improved exchange rate but whatever the reason now is a very good time to invest in a new camera or that extra lens you need to complete your kit. It is also a great time to update you Apple Mac or improve your colour workflow by investing in a colour-accurate Eizo graphics monitor.

The exchange rate is at levels not seen for many years and is obviously having a positive effect on imported goods. We recently took delivery of our first consignment of the all new Nikon D3s (previewed in our October newsletter) which not surprisingly have raced out the door in a matter of days. Whilst this is a cutting edge professional still camera, the Nikon D3s also has serious Movie credentials with its ISO range of 6400 to Hi (102400 ISO equivalent) and a suite of in-camera editing functions. The good news is we have now received a second shipment and we are prepared to negotiate on price. As an added bonus every Nikon D3s sold between now and Christmas will be supplied with a voucher for a full sensor clean which can be redeemed any time over the next twelve months. Because Team Digital will be closed over the Xmas break we won’t be able to process hire returns until Monday the 4th January. This means that for the cost of three days hire, customers can have the use of our photographic hire equipment for a further seven days absolutely free of charge. This presents a great opportunity for photographers wanting to capture some special images over the festive season or use the time to become more proficient with different lenses or perhaps studio flash. You will need to book early though as we expect strong demand for photographic hire over the coming two weeks. 115 ATTEND INAUGURAL MASTERPIECE WORKSHOP
Perth professional photographers and photographic enthusiasts voted with their feet when 115 people attended the joint AIPP/Team Digital sponsored Masterpiece Portrait Series at the Subiaco Arts Centre on the 4th November. During this one-day event attendees saw local photographic talent in the form of Stef King, Ric Syme and Garry Sarre take three distinctly different approaches to composing, lighting and capturing our model. Each gave insights into how they prepare files for print before the final output was unveiled. The results from all three photographers were original and of a high standard as attested to by the attached images. The feedback we received would suggest that this may well become an annual event.
I.TEASER NIGHT – Win a Mystery Door Prize
Team Digital will again present one of its I.Teaser information nights which for the uninitiated are evenings when professionals and enthusiasts can catch up on some of the latest developments in image capture, I.T imaging and printing technology. The evenings last a couple of hours and conclude with refreshments and supper in an informal atmosphere. The first event for the year will be on the 24th February commencing 6.00pm at 268 Lord St East Perth. There will be four, twenty-minute presentations on the following topics: Apple – Mini server and speed benchtesting of the new range. Data Robotics makers of the popular Drobo range of expandable storage systems have further expanded their range with the addition of two new models. The new Drobo S and Drobo Elite offer more storage, faster performance and heightened security.
